To die, to sleep, whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
….To sleep perchance to dream.” -William Shakespspeare, Hamlet

So doth quipped Shakespeare’s Hamlet in his famous soliloquy on the ever uncertain state of mortal affairs and so designer Kim Taegun of Yohanix has conjured his soliloquy for the runway by creating a cracker of a collection worthy of a sonnet or a dope street rap.

Kim Taegun’s experience at the famed house of Balmain was instrumental as his elegant, studded leather pieces electrified the runway with austere tailoring of cashmere wool, hammered leather and tartan check pieces into an elite and aristocratic street style ensemble.  Dagger like arrow details, stars adorning jackets and leather pencil skirts appealed to Hamlet’s royal, but outsider nature.

As the show progressed, impeccably styled models smeared their lipstick in a rebellious and bloody fashion moment worthy of the Notorious MMA, Conor McGregor.  Hamlet may have been the tragic prince, but he was also a royal bad ass in kingly clothes.  Flowing, waxed denim pieces and MA-1 style padded skirts, and chic military styling rounded out this haute street couture collection for, as the designer calls it, Generation Maybe, the outsiders, the up and coming, the not yet established, the starry eyed dreamers, lovers, thinkers, and travelers.
